How the AI shopping assistant handles your data
This assistant is provided by iAdvize on behalf of the store you're visiting. iAdvize acts as the data processor; the store is the data controller. For anything this notice doesn't cover, the store's own privacy policy is your primary source.
What we collect, why, and for how long
- Your conversation with the assistant (the messages you send and receive), so the assistant can respond and the store can review the exchange. Kept for 12 months.
- A cookie that lets the assistant recognise your own conversation as you browse. Strictly necessary to provide the conversation you asked for; it carries no other information about you.
- A key scoped to your browsing session, used to measure how the assistant is used (for example, whether it was shown and whether a conversation started). It is cleared when you close the tab. The measurement data it produces is kept for 24 months.
- Standard technical request data (such as your browser's language and the page you were on) needed to serve the conversation.
- The page you were on when you sent each message: its address without the part after '?', its title and its description. Read only when you send a message, never as you browse, so the assistant can answer a question like “is this in stock?” without you naming the product. Kept with your conversation, for the same 12 months, and the store can switch it off.
- An anonymous measurement of how fast the assistant loads and responds on your device, sent to our hosting provider. It sets no cookie and carries no identifier. Our sub-processor list names the provider that processes it.
How your messages are processed by the AI model
Your messages are sent to a third-party AI model provider. Every call carries zero data retention and an instruction that the content must not be used for training, asserted on each request.
Where your data is hosted
What the assistant stores durably is held within the European Union. Some processing happens elsewhere, and our sub-processor list says exactly what.
What we don't do with your conversation
We do not use your conversation to train or improve the assistant for other stores. This is a distinct purpose from the ones above, and it is not currently performed.
Objecting to measurement
You can object to the usage measurement described above from the chat panel's menu, next to "New conversation". Objecting stops the session-scoped measurement key and its related measurement data from being collected, and stops the performance measurement as well.
Your objection applies to this store only. Carrying it to another store would require an identifier able to recognise you across stores, which we deliberately don't create.
Objecting stops collection going forward. It does not delete data already recorded, which expires under its own retention period.
Deleting your conversation
You can delete the conversation you're currently in from the chat panel's menu.
Once you no longer hold the cookie that identifies your conversation, we can't tell which past conversation was yours, so a specific past conversation can't be deleted on request. That's the same choice that keeps us from recognising you across stores. It still expires under its retention period.
For any request this panel can't serve, contact the store: as the data controller, they are responsible for your data.
