Shopper data-usage notice and the ability to object
AddedEvery conversation started through the web tag or the public link now links to a data-usage notice, in the shopper's own language (French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch). It explains in plain terms what's collected (the conversation itself, the cookie that keeps it going, and a session-scoped key used to measure whether the assistant was shown and used), how long each is kept, and that iAdvize processes it as your data processor, you being the data controller.
Shoppers can now object to usage measurement directly from the chat panel's menu, next to "New conversation." Objecting stops the measurement key and the data it produces from being collected for that session, going forward; the conversation itself keeps working. The same objection can be triggered from your own cookie-consent tool, so a visitor who withdraws consent there is honored by the assistant too.
Reference the notice from your own privacy policy, and wire the objection command into your CMP, to cover visitors who never open the chat. See the embed guide for exactly how.
