The audit log is a lot easier to read

Changed

The audit log got a lot more usable now that it covers nearly every admin action:

  • Every column sorts. Click Date, Site, Actor, Action, Target, or Source to reorder the full filtered list, not just what's loaded on screen.
  • A new Site column, right after Date, shows the resolved site name, or an em dash for an organization-level action that isn't tied to any one site, so you no longer have to cross-reference the Site filter. The Site filter moved to match, now first in the filter bar.
  • Click a row to see everything it carries. A detail panel slides in from the right with the entry's full record, including Outcome, IP address, User agent, and Metadata, none of which clutter the table itself anymore. Almost everything that used to require downloading the export is now one click away.
  • The Action filter is now a searchable dropdown, grouped by sensitivity (High / Medium / Low), showing a plain-language label for each action instead of asking you to guess or type the raw code.
  • The date range is now the same picker used on Reports: quick presets (Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, and more) plus a two-month calendar, replacing two plain date fields.
  • The Action column shows the same plain-language label in the table ("Member removed" instead of member.removed), and Target shows the actual site or agent name instead of just its type, when one was captured.
  • An API-key actor now shows the key's current name instead of an opaque id, or Key no longer exists if it's since been permanently revoked.
  • The CSV export gained six columns: target label, outcome, IP address, browser, metadata, and a WorkOS sync status kept for our own operations use. It's not shown on the page itself.

The log now purges, too. Entries older than your organization's retention window (365 days by default) are deleted daily. Each purge run adds one System-attributed entry recording how many rows it removed, so the deletion itself is auditable. This corrects a claim in the 2026-08-06 entry that nothing in the log could ever be deleted: that was true when it shipped and no longer is.
