The language shown on conversations is now labelled "Panel language"

Fixed

Everywhere the dashboard showed a conversation's language, it said just Language, which reads as the language the shopper wrote in. It never was that. The value is the language the chat panel itself was displayed in for that conversation: whichever of the site's enabled languages the panel resolved to, or the language you picked when testing in the Playground. Nothing detects what a shopper typed, or what language the assistant replied in.

The labels now say so:

  • Conversations list: the Language column is now Panel language, and the filter reads Filter by panel language, with All panel languages as its default option.
  • Conversation detail: the Language row in the Details rail is now Panel language.
  • Conversations report: the Language distribution card is now titled Chat panel language, and its subtitle spells out the distinction: "The language the chat panel was displayed in, not the language the shopper wrote in".

This is wording only. How the language is recorded, filtered and counted is unchanged, and no number on the report moves. Conversations recorded before language tracking shipped still show Unknown.

The Language preference on your own account page is a different setting (the language your dashboard is in) and is untouched.

The new wording ships in all three dashboard languages.
