Conversations now survive a shopper moving to another page
FixedOn a classic multi-page storefront (Shopify, PrestaShop, WooCommerce, any store where clicking a link reloads the whole page), a shopper's conversation used to restart from scratch every time they moved to another page. Only a single-page app, where the panel never unmounts, kept the thread going.
That's fixed. A shopper who reloads the page, clicks to another page, opens a new tab on your site, or reopens the public link, now picks their conversation back up with its full history, as long as their last message was within the past 24 hours. Nothing to configure, and nothing changes in how the tag is installed. See Conversation continuity across page navigation for exactly what does and doesn't resume, including the pre-existing limitation on older Safari and on a checkout hosted on a different domain, both unchanged by this fix.
Two numbers move because of this, and neither is a regression:
- Your monthly conversation count on the Billing page will go down. A shopper's journey across several pages used to be counted as several separate conversations; it's now correctly counted as one.
- Average conversation duration in Reports will go up. Durations used to be cut short at every page boundary; they now reflect the shopper's real time in the conversation.
Both are the count and the duration becoming accurate, not a drop in traffic or engagement.
