The user menu
What the sidebar user menu shows and the actions it gives you: your account, organization switching and settings, theme, and log out.
The user menu is the control at the bottom of the dashboard sidebar. It shows who you're signed in as and gathers your account and organization actions in one place.
Open it
Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar. The button itself shows your avatar, your name, and your email; clicking it opens the menu.
Your avatar is your profile picture from your account. If you haven't uploaded one, it falls back to the photo from your login provider (Google, Microsoft, or another provider), if you signed in with one, or to your initials otherwise: the first letter of your first two name parts (for example, "Ada Lovelace" shows "AL"). If your account has no name set, your email address stands in for the name. See Your settings for the full avatar fallback chain and how to change it.
What's in it
- Your avatar, name, and email repeated at the top, as a single clickable row (with a settings-wheel icon). Click it to open your account page, where a tab strip on the page itself switches between My account (name, language, time zone, theme), Security (password and sessions), and Notifications (which product emails you get).
- Organizations: every organization you belong to, with the current one checked. Pick another one to switch to it; switching organization also moves you to that organization's own current site.
- Organization Settings: a submenu with whichever of General, Members, Roles, API Keys, Billing, and Audit log your role grants access to, and, at the end, Create organization, always available, regardless of your role in the current one.
- Theme: a three-way Light / Dark / System switch, right on the row. Pick one and the dashboard switches instantly. See Switching the theme.
- Log out: ends your session. See Signing in and out.
Looking for a specific site?
This menu is for your account and your organization. To switch between the sites in your organization, use the site switcher at the top of the sidebar instead. See Switch between sites.
Organization Settings on a narrow screen
On a wide screen, Organization Settings opens a submenu beside this one. Below about 860px wide (a phone, most tablets in portrait), this menu swaps to the settings destinations in place instead, with a back arrow at the top to return to the rest of the menu.
